The making of - hand block print khadi
Celebrating unique, one of a kind, hand made magic again with another block print stunning fabric via my latest Hand block print obsession.
You might have previously seen me share my Janki Dress - as I think it is just such a stunning dress that really lets this fabric shine, but I couldn't help but to revisit this fabric again. So amazing in every way, and now available in one of my best selling bodies in the Khar Dress - perfection in every sense!
The cotton silk-blend I chose to construct this from, hangs so effortlessly and is oh so soft to the touch. Topped off with the most amazing and intricate hand block printed motif, designed in a lovely floral print by me, which is then cut from a wood block by hand to form the stamp, and applied with the most expert eye and attention to detail to truly let the fabric shine.
My Janki Dress I hope does justice to this fabric masterclass, adding to the soft fabric and hand block print with the most sublime hand crotched lace detailing throughout the dress in a stunning Victorian inspired body. What is not to love!!
And if my Janki Dress doesn't grab your attention, I also used this fabric to share with perhaps the most versatile body in this line - and a great transitional piece in my Khar Dress. Showcasing the most amazing fabric again, the gathering detailing on the neckline that means it will hug your body in the right way but then the easy sack style of the dress will keep you comfortable, not to mention those little attention to details throughout the dress.
Both are entirely hand made, by my team in India, made in limited quantities, and never re-stocked.
